On any given day, Sydney Road in Brunswick carries thousands of cars to and from Melbourne’s north. But yesterday, for just six hours, it carried none.Instead, four kilometres of the busy shopping strip was closed to all but those on two wheels, and to trams, as Moreland City Council staged its second Cyclovia.“Australia being so wedded to the car means some people react with horror when they find out you can’t drive,” Cyclovia organiser Nicholas Elliot said. “But there’s been huge support for this.”
